Join the Cause!

As many of you are already aware, I am a champion for the repressed and downtrodden. This may cause a wave of comments in confirmation and adulation for me, but I ask you to refrain, and instead lend your voices to a cause that is closer to my heart than most. Yes, even closer than the millions of other causes lodged in my arteries so deeply that I regularly black out due to my own goodness.

I recently heard about a young child living in such horrible conditions that her sister was forced to sit still in one area, lest she fall upon razor blades, nails and other such items. As if seeing her sister suffer weren't enough, she was regularly subjected to dictatorial regime of her own mother. I can not describe the horror better than the word of the mother herself, so I invite you to click on the link below.

http://aaronandmeg.blogspot.com/2007/07/potty-prizes.html

If the visual imagery of the piece above was too strong for you, I apologize. That said, I'm sure you'll agree that the treatment of Reese Williardson goes beyond the normal boundaries of parental discretion.

I say Megan Willardson must be stopped. I say Megan Willardson must provide the rewards that were promised, or compensation in like kind. I say Four Potties, Four Prizes!

Four Potties, Four Prizes!
Four Potties, Four Prizes!

I ask you to join me in the call for justice. Let your voice lend reason to this madness.

Tell Megan, "No Longer!" No Longer should children be forced to toil without just compensation. No Longer must tears be shed over excretions made in vain. No Longer should Mermaid sisters be plucked from the arms of our children without due process.

NO LONGER, We say!

We'll must take this message to the streets. We must tell our friends and neighbors. Brothers and Sisters must unite as one voice to say, "Megan Willardson, you horrid beast, THIS WILL NOT STAND!!! FREE THOSE PRIZES!!!"

FOUR POTTIES, FOUR PRIZES!
FOUR POTTIES, FOUR PRIZES!
FOUR POTTIES, FOUR PRIZES!
FOUR POTTIES, FOUR PRIZES!
FOUR POTTIES, FOUR PRIZES!

Our Basement

Here are the pictures I took of Kristie's project. Sorry We don't have before pics, but you can probably just imagine the standard unfinished basement stair.

Yesterday I installed a new light fixture for the landing, and kristie painted and hung the handrails back up. I know its tough to tell without the before pics, but the end result is a huge improvement.

Looking Forward

While taking summer studio has put a damper on a things a bit, we're still trying to fit some fun into summer. I got us tix to see Cirque to Soleil (spelling?) in a few weeks, and Kristie's parents will be here in mid July. Then, in August (15th - 18th), we're heading out California to take a little mini-vacation. It will be fun to see friends and family and play tourist for a few days. So, if you're still in california, and want to see us, let us know.

On the catching up front.... School has been no fun at all these last few months. I am going to get some images up from studio so ya'll can see what I do, and where I kick it 24/7 during the semester. Kristie is still working in accounting, and hopefully I'll be making some money soon, and she can take time to explore what she really wants to do. I feel pretty guilty about going back to school, because it means she has had to stay in the field way beyond when she should have had to. Oh well. Hopefully, the future will bring brighter things.

Speaking of brighter things, we are beginning to get the baseement started. While she patiently waits for me to begin framing walls, Kristie has been pianting the stairway down to the basement, and decorating it some. Every night I come home, take out the dog, and then go check out the things she's done. It looks pretty good... especially since she's never done stuff like faux painting before. My favorite part was coming home, and seeing the rails removed from the stairs. I've got one handy little woman. I'm going to take some pics tonight and put them up, cause I'm so proud.

I get to do a few things on the honey-do list this week. For the last two weeks, a new porch light has been sitting on the front step as a reminder that I need to install it. I think there are about a dozen similar jobs just waiting for my attention.

Thats it for now. More to come.

A Little Bait

In an effort to coherse Mark and Melinda into creating a blog, I am setting a little trap. I realize it will be difficult, so I've spent some time scheming and choreographing the perfect strategy.

I am assuming that if they happen to view this entry, they'll be so mesmerized by seeing all the things they love in one place, that they'll have no choice but to join the crowd. Brilliant, isn't it?
Well, Mark and Melinda, this is for you. Enjoy.
Nice opening move, huh Mark?

Only you Indeed....

Of course you have to have a puppy... Oh and is that a bulldog? I think it is.
Karch digs. Karch blocks. Karch kills it in Sinjin's face. Karch Wins. Karch Destroys. Always. Forever.

There aren't a lot of pictures of beaver on the internet. Care to add some?

To go with all that BYU Coffee you bought.

The blog would be a perfect place to tell us about the new 2007 x-star you're getting.

And finally, Melinda could reveal what its like to live a secret double life as Darth Raider.

I think that should do it. I look forward to reading about things around the Lawrence House.

Skittles to sponser this blog?

I do like skittles (pictured above), but I don't agree with the harmful message of their advertising campaigns. I can't endorse any product that encourages people to risk almost certain ocular and/or oral injury by gazing skyward with a open mouth during a candy downpour. While skittles does have a non-lethal terminal velocity, they are still quite capable of inflicting serious, permanent injury on impact.

Please do your part by emailing skittles and asking them what they are doing to protect the world’s children. Here is the link: http://www.skittles.com/contact/index.jsp

Mildly Organized Thoughts On An Unworthy Subject

I am back in studio, and can really only post when I am rendering, or waiting for my partner's work to finish up. That said, I'll try to get a few posts in this week. I will use this one to rant. I believe this is the best forum for a rant, because before blogs, I seldom heard the word.

My whole family is still hooked on Survivor. I liked it the first season or two, but then it got repetitive, and pretty boring. The only fun part is watching it with said family, and seeing thier reactions.

I have learned a few things since i stopped watching Survivor:

1. Don't call Dad on Thursday night. He will talk to you, but he's not really there. This applies the whole night. Not just when Survivor is on. I think he goes into Survivor anticipation zombie mode at least an hour before the show starts.

2. No one remembers that I don't watch Survivor. This puts me in an interesting position, because we are 1 hour ahead of California time. If I happen to catch a few names of contestants. I can call California just as the show ends here and say something like, "can you believe they kicked off (insert wrong name)!?!"

3. Now that CBS has cancelled Jericho. I have no use for this network. I don't watch anything else on it. That's nice, because I don't have to look lower than channel 7 on the Dish Guide to see what's on.

4. I watch too much TV, and I do it without watching many of the popular shows. I spend most of my time watching Newsradio, MASH, or Deadliest Catch.

5. Reality TV is even more formulaic than the sitcom has become, and it took far less time.

6. I'm glad I have other stuff to talk about with my family.

7. Even with all this, I still watch it when I'm in California, or at Amy's.

8. Ranting about Reality TV is not even remotely edgy, new or cool.

9. You really need at least 12 points for a quality rant.

Spring Break

Kristie and I decided to get away from school/ work for a little while in April. Because flights were expensive, and Denver is so far away from everywhere, our options were a little limited. We ended up going to Santa Fe. It was fun, and relaxing, but there wasn't really much to do. It rained, hailed, and snowed. We saw the sights, did a lot of shopping, and had enough New Mexican food to last us a while.

On the way there we stopped in Trinidad, Co. which, if you didn't already know, is the Sex Change Capitol of the World. How nasty is that?

Well its nasty enough that the bathrooms have 409 instead of soap.

Also in the women's room....

Santa Fe has a law that says all new buildings have to be in Adobe. (They call it the City Different). So, even though it doesn't look like it, these pictures were taken in a lot of different places.

Palace of Governers - Really old building (1600's), and the original rest stop jewelry lady hangout.

Self explanatory

Kristie stops to pose in one of the many many stores.

More to come....

Mom's 60th Birthday

In an effort to catch up, I'll start where I left off.

In February, I went to California with all my siblings to suprise my Mom for her birthday. Yes, I need to catch up from February. I know. It was really fun seeing everyone, and my Dad was able to suprise my mom.

Here are some of the pics we took at Dennis the Menace Park in Monterey.

The OC

Well, it seems the OC has been dropped. I, for one, will remember it fondly. Luckily, I have been printing out and memorizing the written transcripts. It is disappointing that they never aired a single one of the episodes that I sent in. If any of you have suggestions for how I could fill the 8pm-9pm Thursday night timeslot, please send them.

Goodbye Seth, Summer, Marisa, Ryan, Sandy, Kristen, Caleb, Julie, Bullet, Frank, Oliver, Johnny, Luke, Taylor, Marisa's lesbian lover, Ryan's unresolved illegitimate child, Teresa, Tre, Volchek, Mr. Roberts, Jimmy Cooper, Capt. Oats and Princess Sparkle, Che, Pancakes, Ryan's super slutty stalker Rebecca, Daryl the homeless guy, Sadie, The Nana, Anna, Hailey, and Zach. I love and miss you all. Caitlin, I will hate you forever for what you did to Lucy.

That is all.

The Great White North

Thornton is on a record pace for snow. We've already passed the annual average, and the snowiest months haven't even started yet. Here are some pics from the first two blizzards.

This is what normal snow looks like here. We usually get this type about 5 times a year. This is the first weekend since December that we haven't have this much fresh snow on the ground.

This is our house on the night of the first blizzard. It took Kristie Like 4 hours to get home from work (normally like 25 min.)

Another night shot from our house.

The next morning (about 2 more inches fell after this was taken.)

It's a good thing Lacey is so light, or she would have sunk a lot deeper than this. Now, look at that picture, and tell me we don't have the cutest little dog in the world.

As noted many times on this blog and others, Kristie is super cool. On top of this, she is a total babe, and a superb snow shoveller.

I helped, too.

I went on a walk, and this was about the average from the first blizzard. 6 days later we got another foot, and since then we've had about 30 more inches. I am totally sick of the snow.

Wherever you are, I hope it's nice and warm.

A little update

Before we get going with the new posts, I should point out a few high points of Scott's myspace blog up until now. If you are interested in seeing the whole thing, go to http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.ListAll&friendID=64802779

Here, then, are a few images to tell the story of our last few years:

Reggie and Pat Delvechio -Sioux Falls area legends and STSED instructors.

Wesley Snipes

Amy and Josh's new car

Megan and Aaron's new car

Lacey and her fish

We went to New England

Scott was crushed with a rugged, yet comfortable workboot.

It should also be noted that I am awesome, Kristie likes kangaroos, I am currently attending Saul Turner's School of Erotic Dance (63rd and Pecos, behind the Wendy's), and pastry from Hollee and Paul's wedding has some sort of vendetta against me.

Next up... more recent happenings

Whoops!

This Blog was first created about 6 months ago, and hasn't been updated since, because I lost the password. Well, I found it, and will start getting stuff up here very soon.
