from you for me

By now fans worldwide have a good idea of what makes me tick/ groove/ generally get down.

So I am curious to hear what sorts and types of things you think would suit me. what I'm failing to get at is a request for names and links to musicians you think I might, or might like to, dig. As a bonus/ retaliatory strike, I will reply with a suggestion of my own for you and yours.

Send em' in. I'll listen/ buy/ delete this post (and cry) if no one responds.

Winner gets to tell people they know me.

Don't know 'bout you, but I am LOVIN' The KILLERS right now. Sams Town, Hot Fuss...great stuff. Reese can proudly sing all the lyrics to "When You Were Young" and if I could figure out how to put videos on my blog of her singing it, I totally would.

I'll try to think up a few more non-lame music to send your way...

As far as TV shows go, Um...have you seen YO GABBA GABBA? Go to nick jr.com and watch a free episode. Pretty soon you'll be gettin' down with Dj Lance.

Hey, thanks for the comment. It really was a cool experience. Are you a teacher? I ought to know this.

Lessee, bands. I don't have any idea what you like. I could recommend some new weird stuff, but I'm not sure if you'll like it. I'm going through a weird phase at the moment. I've been into really classic stuff like Bob Dylan, Billie Holiday, Stevie Wonder, Nirvana, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, etc. I've never really been into jazz or R&B before, but I'm getting into it all of a sudden.

Radiohead just came out with a great new album called In Rainbows if you're into alternative.

if I remember correctly, you are a zac effron fan....no? may I also suggest then, the Jonas Brothers. I have absolutely now idea who they are, or what they do, but I hear they are hot stuff.

or right now I am listening to Paolo Nutini, and Joshua Radin, who are no Hannah Montana, but will do. Or Foo Fighters and Ben Folds.

1) In case you missed it, there's a new Nine Inch Nails album called "The Slip" and this one is free. You can download it from their website. Oddly enough, this is one of the few bands that I could relate to as a 16 year old and I still relate to as a 31 year old: www.nin.com

2) I heard this yesterday, which prompted me to download the entire record. the song is "Ante Up" by M.O.P (which stands for Mash-Out Posse) but it's the video that really sold me on the song. go ahead, ask the bishop what's so bad about gangsta rap(e): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21OH0wlkfbc

3)Had Gil Mantera's Party Dream occured in the late eighties / early ninties, I believe mormon girls would have been skipping around the cultural hall in ankle length floral skirts during church dances to this, nestled into a megamix of Erasure, The Cure, and Depeche Mode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qygN2En0U0I
